Daily Classroom Rules
  These rules will be posted and reviewed with all students.
 
::
Students will not be permitted to eat or chew gum in class.
 
::
Students are expected to come into class in an orderly manner. Each student is to set up his/her instrument, be seated, properly warm up, and be ready to start as soon as possible.
 
::
Students are expected to take care of all school property and to keep an orderly room. All school instruments are to be taken care of properly. Music stands are to be handled with care.
 
::
Students are to play only their own instruments! Percussionists, for example, are the only ones allowed to play on percussion instruments.
 
::
Students are expected to treat everyone, including themselves, with respect.
 
::
Students are not to enter the instrument storage room during band class without permission from the band instructor or substitute teacher. Students found entering the room without permission will receive a detention. Furthermore, a principal referral may be issued to any student found handling another student's instrument without permission or found in a suspicious situation in the instrument storage room.

Students are expected to try their best and take pride in this organization. REMEMBER, THIS IS YOUR ENSEMBLE!

Student Responsibilities
  Students in Hayfield Secondary School Bands enjoy the prestige of participating in excellent ensembles, and are personally responsible for giving their best effort. A band can be outstanding only if its members pursue excellence as individuals.
  An excellent band student:
 
::
Comes prepared for class with instrument, music and a pencil.
 
::
Refrains from classroom talking and interruptions.
 
::
Attends all performances in their entirety.
 
::
Practices daily at home.
 
::
Shows respect for others.
 
 
Teacher Availability
 

All teachers are available before school from
6:45 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. and after school on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 2:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m.
