Greetings,

My name is Paul Price and I work with the drumline at Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, Virginia (right outside of Washington DC). I wanted to take a brief moment to let you know about a major day of percussion that I have put together for November 16, 2008. It is called "Woodshed Revival" and this year we are going to have Scott Johnson(Percussion Instructor for the 11 time DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils), Tim Jackson(4 time DCI I&E Tenor Champ), Casey Brohard(DCI I&E Snare Champ 2005), Mark Reynolds(Instructor for WGI Bronze Medalist RhythmX), Kevin Murphy(drummer for Josh Gracin and alum of Madison Scouts), and Rich Redmond(drummer for Jason Aldean and alum of North Texas State University). The format for this day will be rather unique in that we will have a solo snare and tenor competition(scholastic & independent levels) in the AM and a concert in the PM. In addition, there will be an opportunity for directors and parents to sit down with Scott Johnson and chat about ideas for making your percussion program stronger. There are two levels of ticket prices; $30 for the competition and concert and $20 for the concert alone. If you would like further information on the event, you can email me back and I will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. I am anticipating that tickets will be made available this spring. If you have folks that are interested, they might want to get their tickets as soon as they go on sale. These guys (especially Scott Johnson) are in high demand and they don't get to this part of the country very often. I have attached a flyer that you can distribute amongst your group.
