Assessment Concerts for intermediate and advanced bands 
at Carl Sandburg MS


Friday, March 8- Intermediate Band 
----please send in concert clothes anytime before March 8!!---------

2:45pm meet after school; snack,  change, rehearse
6:00pm arrive at Carl Sandburg MS
7:40pm performance, sight reading
9:15pm Return to Hayfield 

Saturday, March 9- Advanced Symphonic Band
11:00am Meet at Hayfield, bus to Sandburg
1:30pm performance, sight reading
2:50pm return to Hayfield, dismissed 


Concert Behavior
Standards for evaluation of a student as audience include:
-remaining seated throughout the concert
-remaining silent through all performances
-avoiding all electronic devices and distractions
-supporting all performances with appropriate focus and applause.
-remaining for the the entire concert.
-returing equipment and uniform parts after the concert.

Concert Dress

Beginning Band, Beginning Percussion, and Intermediate Band:

White oxford button down shirt, black pants (full length shirt for girls)
black socks, black dress shoes. We will provide a bow tie.



Advanced Band 
Girls - Black band dress (ordered through school) black closed toe dress shoes.


Boys - White tux shirt, black tux pants, black bow tie, black socks black dress shoes.
          all  Provided by student.


November 9, 2018-
Middle school marching band night.
Report at 5:00pm, dismissed after halftime ( about 8:40)

Welcome back. We need you to bring your instruments by Wednesday if possible, 
  and next Monday at the latest.Local stores are standing by to rent instruments if you need. 
          Music & Arts in Springfield
          Lorton Music - 8961 Ox Road in Lorton
Contracts for students renting instruments through the school will be coming as well.
